Albert Henry Peltier

Albert was born the 12th of December 1920 in Worcester, Massachusetts the only son of two children born to George and Eula Peltier. He was a 1939 graduate of Marlborough High School. He was working at Curtis Shoe Factory and living with his parents at 44 Harvard Street when he enlisted into the Army Air Corps the 29th of June 1942. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant and married Beatrice Powers. He received training as a pilot at Lawry Field Colorado, Tempe Arizona, Santa Ana California, King City Colorado, Marana Arizona and Williams Field Arizona.
He was ultimately assigned to the 434th Army Air Forces Base Unit for combat air training in Santa Rosa, California. On the 13th of August 1945 on a route flight near Lakeville, California, Albert’s P-38 Lightning aircraft suffered a midair collision with a fellow pilot. Albert tried to land the aircraft but crashed upon the attempt. His grave is located in Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
