Laurice was born the 23rd of October 1920 in Brattleboro, Vermont, the oldest of three sons born to Arthur and Celia Langelier. He spent his early years with his family in Brattleboro before moving to Marlborough where he completed middle school and his first year at Marlborough High School. He graduated from the Pinkerton Academy in Derry New Hampshire in 1939. While living in Derry, New Hampshire and working at the Chelmsford Shoe Company, Laurice enlisted into the Army the 30th of June 1942. Following his basic training he was assigned to the 201st Ordnance Maintenance Company of the 45th Ordnance Battalion, part of the Fifth Army.
Laurice and his fellow soldiers in the Ordnance Corps ensured that the front-line troops had adequate supplies of ammunition and supplies. In late June 1943 while driving in a truck near the front lines, Laurice’s vehicle collided with another causing the gas tank to explode and engulfing Laurice in flames. He was able to dive into a pile of mud to douse the flames but not before receiving serious burns from which he would die on the 7th of July 1943. His remains were repatriated to the United States in 1948 and he is buried at the Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery in West Brattleboro, Vermont.
